Role & responsibilities
Role Summary
The Automation Technical Lead will be responsible for leading the migration, modernization, and rationalization of existing RPA workflows into a ServiceNow-led automation and agentic AI target state. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in RPA platforms, ServiceNow automation capabilities, Python-based automation, and agentic AI patterns, along with the ability to guide and mentor a team of automation engineers.
Implement automation through ServiceNow out-of-the-box agents, Integration Hub, RPA Hub, Python scripts, and custom AI agents, while establishing governance and architectural standards for enterprise-scale automation.
Experience
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise automation, RPA, or platform engineering
- 3+ years in a technical leadership or solution architecture role
- Proven experience leading automation modernization or RPA migration initiatives
Required Technical Skills
Automation and RPA
- Strong hands-on experience in RPA tools such as:
- UiPath
- Automation Anywhere
- Blue Prism
- Deep understanding of RPA limitations and modernization strategies
ServiceNow Platform
- Experience with:
- ServiceNow Integration Hub
- RPA Hub
- Out-of-the-box ServiceNow agents
- Flow Designer and orchestration patterns
- Familiarity with ServiceNow as a strategic automation and ServiceOps platform
Programming and Agentic AI
- Strong proficiency in Python for:
- API-based automation
- Batch processing
- Orchestration and control logic
- Experience designing or integrating agentic AI solutions
- Understanding of AI-driven decisioning vs rule-based automation
Desirable Skills
- Exposure to AI/ML-assisted automation and LLM-based agents
- Experience with cloud-native automation and APIs
- Knowledge of ITSM, ITOM, and ServiceOps processes
- Familiarity with enterprise security and audit requirements for automation
