As a Financial Analyst, you will be part of Palantir’s Finance team and provide analytical and business planning support focused on our largest area of investment. You’ll develop an intimate understanding of what drives Palantir’s success by partnering with key stakeholders to analyze and report on the financial impact of decisions across the company.Core ResponsibilitiesBuild and manage a companywide compensation forecast, including both cash and equityPartner with business leaders to develop headcount budgets and track performance against those goalsUse Palantir’s rich internal data to create financial models & structured reporting that surface insights and drive planningPerform ad-hoc analyses to inform hiring decisions and compensation strategyLiaise with compensation team, investor relations & management to produce quarterly earnings guidance; identify risks and opportunities to our financial outlook as it relates to payroll and peoplePartner with accounting team to ensure accuracy of payroll numbers & timely completion of month-end closeWhat We ValueAbility to operate with a high degree of trust in an environment with sensitive data.A strong desire to challenge the status quo to improve and streamline financial processes for increased efficiency and scale.Entrepreneurial spirit and desire to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.At least 3 years of relevant work experience; 5 years or more is preferred.Strong experience with complex data modeling in at least two of the following: Excel, SQL, Python, JAVA or MATLAB; familiarity with additional modeling platforms is a plus.BA/BS or MA/MS in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Math, Statistics, or another analytical field, or equivalent experience.What We ValueYou have two or more years of experience with financial modeling (such as investment banking, equity research, or consulting), plus at least two years working in finance in an operational setting (preferably at a startup or scaling company)You are able to adapt to a constantly shifting landscape and solve complex problems in creative waysYou can handle sensitive information in a professional and dispassionate mannerYou love meeting new people and building relationships, even in a remote and / or distributed world. You have excellent verbal and written communication skillsYou are highly proficient in Excel and are eager to learn to work with Palantir’s in-house data tools. While not required, more technical experience (such as SQL, PySpark, Python) is a plusYou have a good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
