About this role:

The iShares US Asset Manager Team is responsible for the driving the distribution, growth and adoption of iShares ETFs inside US Asset Managers and delivering comprehensive product, markets and consulting insights in collaboration with the broader iShares Institutional Group.  The Team is seeking a VP or Director to lead the Model Portfolio Strategy for US-based Asset Managers in addition to acting as a client Relationship Manager.  This person will be responsible for managing the teams Model Portfolio Strategy, its governance, influence across 3rd party Asset Manager clients and Blackrock partners and manage select relationships with existing clients and prospects in the United States. The Relationship Manager is encouraged to be well-versed in all aspects of ETF landscape as well as command a complete perspective of the US wealth advisory markets with particular interest and knowledge in model portfolios, multi-asset strategies and separately managed accounts. This person will be expected to deliver a full range of investment capabilities from the BlackRock iShares platform, Blackrock US Wealth Advisory Services and Aladdin Wealth Technology. They will also provide best-in-class thought leadership, and investment solutions to prospects and clients and help build and grow our iShares wallet share across their model portfolio suites and business. The role may report to the Head of the Asset Manager Group and will be supporting the team’s broader distribution efforts across the US with an expectation to grow into an assigned book of business. The role will be based in New York or Boston and will require travel up to ~30% of the time.

Key Responsibilities:

Own Asset Manager Model strategy: Including progress, governance and execution of strategy with Head of Asset Manager business

Drive new and existing client relationships with the Models and Multi-Asset Solutions Groups across the investment and business leadership and with portfolio managers, research, risk and trading

Lead strategic client targeting and design well-planned and engaging client meetings that uncover product or portfolio needs leading to implementation of the iShares ETF product suite.

Develop new revenue opportunities and defend existing revenue sources within the Multi-Asset Solutions and Model Portfolios for all of the iShares products, technology and client types.

Deliver new commercial opportunities to initiate brand building and uncover new sales opportunities currently not explored or occurring in the Models business across the Asset Manager space.

Grow and refine the overall investment and product proficiency across iShares ETF solutions and the broader BlackRock investment platform and services.

Work collaboratively across the various institutional and wealth businesses at BlackRock to create or strengthen partnership that allow unique yet scalable solutions for the clients.

Mentor and assist in the development of junior team members and become a resource and leader across the team driving engagement, respect and collaboration for members.

6+ years of financial proven experience. Some experience in institutional relationship management and fundraising preferred.

Prior knowledge of US Wealth distribution / Industry and investment knowledge a plus.

Knowledge or proficiency in public markets assets and across a wide range of both institutional and wealth investment vehicles a plus.

Prior experience in investing, portfolio management, research role a plus.

BA/BS in any field, preferably in Finance, Economics or Accounting. MBA a plus, but not required.

Role will require candidate to acquire regulatory licenses Series 7 and 63.

Candidate should have a goal to pursue CFA or CAIA designation

Robust Excel skills and some level of interest or technical proficiency with Python or other programming ability a plus, not required.
