Business Unit Overview

The International Cash Management Group manages a suite of products that includes Prime and Government Money Market and Ultra-Short Duration Mutual funds and Separate Accounts. BlackRock’s cash management style is designed to meet each client’s objectives of capital preservation, liquidity and yield – in that order.  This philosophy is built on a risk-controlled framework, featuring careful analysis of credit, interest rate trends, and relative value opportunities which ultimately produce investment returns on a risk adjusted basis. Our disciplined approach to investing originated in 1973 when we pioneered the first constant-dollar money market fund dedicated to institutional investors.

Job Purpose and Responsibilities

The International Cash Management Group is seeking an individual to support the COO team to shape the function, and design and implement best practice COO processes and procedures for the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing operational, analytical and problems solving to support the client and product lifecycle in this this growing, fast-paced business. The role will afford the successful candidate the opportunity to execute on multiple COO projects to improve controls, mitigate risk, manage costs and increase efficiencies and support a positive client experience.

The role will bring the individual into regular contact with senior stakeholders across the business and being comfortable in these circles, while providing subject matter detail, is crucial. Close interaction with all business functions (Sales, Product Strategy, Marketing and Portfolio Management) will be expected, as well as with other key businesses within BlackRock – external service providers, GAAPs, Global Product Group (“GPG”), Finance, Legal and Compliance.

Primary responsibilities include:

Collate and examine existing procedures across the function, critique quality and identify gaps

Map new and existing processes and procedures, together with functional heads; work with other members of the team to propose potential changes to align with target operating model

Design processes to manage, monitor and drive adherence of the International Cash Management Group function to key risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Support product lifecycle events that result from client demand or regulatory changes

Develop and maintain controls in relation to effective risk management; drive discussions around operating events and process improvements to help mitigate risk and promote a culture of compliance. Serve as point of contact for operational risk escalation.

Manage and execute strategic projects related to the effective governance of the business including potential changes to the business operating model

Build strong partnerships with external and internal stakeholders and contribute to our diverse and inclusive work environment

Knowledge / Experience Required

Preferred minimum 5 years of experience in financial services, in roles such as Project Management, Compliance, Accounting, Business Management etc.

Knowledge of financial markets and understanding of the money market fund industry

Research, quantitative or analytical skills

Presentation and written communication skills Interpersonal skills to help foster an inclusive culture of teamwork and knowledge sharing
