The firm’s HR function is at the groundbreaking in diversity (we represent over 30 nationalities and speak more than 45 languages) and efficiency, and we’re looking for an HR professional to join our Human Resources Platform & Infrastructure team.
The HR Platform & Infrastructure team member will partner with professionals across all HR functions, employees and managers in a fast paced and dynamic work environment. The role is responsible for providing support for the delivery of Absence Management function. The position will provide a well-rounded experience of both upstream and downstream HR operations.

Develop an understanding of internal HR teams, e.g., Payroll, Rewards, Legal and Compliance, and HR Business Partners to resolve manager and employee questions within defined timelines
Develop a strong working relationship with established vendors, ensuring leaves are processed timely and correctly with vendors (i.e. Payroll) and providing insights to help manage vendor performance on cases
Provide exceptional customer service to internal clients, efficiently and effectively answering their questions and / or sound advice while working to problem solve with them concerning their absence (for example, family leave, health)
Counsel employees and managers concerning leave benefits and provide employees with accurate information on policy, deductions from pay relating to absences, medical certification requirements, return-to-work dates, etc.
Process all long-term absences on our Absence System and Payroll systems, resolve eligibility for various leave programs including family and medical leave (FMLA) and temporary disability leave according to established guidelines, and advise employees in a timely manner
Understand different Leaves and Leave policies for various countries and its impact operationally
Review, operate and audit HR transactions relating to leaves within employee lifecycle
Partnering closely with Benefits team in launching new/amend leaves as and when required
Work on compliances related to leaves and abide by all the filings, payments as needed by the local legislation.
Build deep understanding of end to end processes and be able to act as competent back –up for other team members across regions where BlackRock has a presence
Adept in using technology systems and applications to execute day-to-day responsibilities including Workday
Conduct periodic audits and reconciliations of processes, build/ follow proper controls to mitigate risk
Continuously identify and drive process improvement and standardization opportunities to provide an exceptional employee experience, identify areas for automation and reduction of risk
Independently balance day to day responsibilities with key project work and professional development opportunities; strong time management
Connect with peers (within team and across regions) to share best practices, ideas and solutions
Create and maintain process documentation
4 – 6 years of proven experience in HR operations or another business or corporate operations team
BA/BS Degree, MBA (HR) preferred
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Solid ability to problem-solve and recommend solutions
Microsoft Office (essential) and Workday (preferred)
Broad knowledge of HR Absence Management processes and their interdependencies
Prior experience with vendor management (required)
Financial services and/or investment banking industry experience is preferable
A high level of attention to detail
A positive and ‘can-do’ attitude
Discretion in dealing with confidential information
Teamwork including collaborating with remote team members
Strong problem-solving skills
Demonstrated customer / employee service experience; desire and ability to provide excellent service to internal clients
Adaptability and resilience to pressurized environments
