BlackRock’s US Wealth Advisory business (“USWA”) manages the firm’s relationships with US retail financial services firms and their advisors, who ultimately serve end investors. Representing a full suite of strategies – from iShares ETFs and mutual funds to SMAs, model portfolios, alternatives, portfolio solutions, and sub-advisory programs – USWA’s mandate is to deliver “One BlackRock” to our clients.
The USWA COO team plays an integral role at the intersection of business strategy, client and product strategy and operational risk management for US Wealth. We are seeking an individual to lead business management and drive sales enablement (VP/Director) for US Wealth. The role, based in NY, Princeton or Boston, will report to the USWA Deputy COO.
Develop and drive USWA CRM roadmap in partnership with ACSS to i) drive productivity, ii) improve the client and Market Leader experience, iii) enable sales teams to follow a more standardized, risk-aware process iv) use data to identify commercial opportunities / better tailor the client dialogue and v) drive the adoption of new digital capabilities
Bring to USWA capabilities available in our global tech/data/insights platform; participate in development of new features to support the business
Data vision and strategy
Drive tech & data culture transformation in partnership with broader COO org, Distribution, TDM, home office teams, and MP3
Use core reporting tools to translate data into business insights; identify improvements around our business processes and reporting
Bring together USWA data community and partner groups (Data Science, FP&A, ACSS) to manage the data we have (financials, client and product flows, insights) and how we use it to answer questions about our business
Work with the broader strategy function and sales and product pillar leads to develop our business narrative, focus areas and constructs for execution
Drive budgeting and forecasting processes (sales and expenses) and collaboration with stakeholders in partnership with FP&A
Manage department footprint, headcount and pipeline plans in partnership with recruiting, hiring managers, and FP&A
Organize strategic meeting series and presentations (i.e., QBR, Board, GEC, ExCos, BizCos, offsites, etc.)
Seek out efficiencies within our processes with an eye to mitigating risk
Develop and deliver department communication strategy across scaled platforms, including Town Halls, USWA Business Council, etc.
7+ years of relevant experience (i.e., operations, data analytics, strategy)
A desire to build deep knowledge of BlackRock’s lines of business and provide recommendations that will help USWA deliver to our clients and stakeholders
Hands-on approach and a passion for digging into business management issues with the curiosity of a journalist and the diligence of an auditor
A strong ability to translate data into narratives tailored for different audiences
Background in data analysis and statistical principles; some experience automating data collection and building data visualizations (i.e., R, Python, PowerBI PPT, Excel)
Flexibility to adapt to changing environments, priorities, and situations
A team-player mentality, positive attitude, and willingness to lend a hand where help is needed to advance the team’s ability to drive growth and operate effectively
Strong project management skills
FINRA Series 7, 66 and 24 a plus
