Business Unit Overview:
The Cash Management Group manages a suite of products that includes Prime and Government Money Market Mutual funds, ETFs, Separate Accounts, and Securities Lending Cash Collateral. BlackRock’s cash management style is designed to meet each client’s objectives of capital preservation, liquidity and yield – in that order. The basis of successful investment performance is research and analysis of sectors and securities. Although past performance is not indicative of future results, we believe our record of consistent outperformance while controlling risk in our liquidity funds validates a competitive edge in our ability to create alpha within a risk-controlled framework. This philosophy is supported by careful analysis of credit, interest rate trends, and relative value opportunities which ultimately produce exceptional investment returns on a risk adjusted basis. Our focused approach to investing originated in 1973 when we pioneered the first constant-dollar money market fund dedicated to institutional investors.

Job Purpose/Background/Responsibilities:
The Product Strategy team is the central point of contact for the separate account business within Cash Management. The Product Strategy team is responsible for building new separate account relationships and supporting the growth of existing relationships and responding to ad-hoc inquiries from clients and relationship managers regarding short term fixed income markets and our products/strategies
.
The Product Strategist team is also responsible for serving as the link between the Portfolio Management Group (“PMG”) and the Global Sales team. The Product Strategist will serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal business partners for questions related to short term products and markets! This includes responding to Requests for Proposals (“RFPs”), Due Diligence requests, and other formal requests from prospective and existing clients.

Primary responsibilities include:

Collaborating with portfolio managers, strategists, and relationship managers to develop and produce the materials for on-going deliverables, portfolio reviews, ad-hoc meetings, new products, etc;

coordinating with portfolio teams, other BlackRock teams, and other offices to ensure consistency and quality over the material across the global product set

developing “best-in-class” client experience for the cash management separate account business

contributing to building and maintaining team infrastructure and metrics

presenting current markets, investment strategy and the investment process to clients

Qualifications:

BA/BS with a preference in Finance and evidence of broad skill set (CFA or MBA preferred)

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate between various groups including Strategy, Portfolio Teams, Sector Specialists, Sales, COO, Legal, and other areas

Detail-oriented and must be able to multi-task effectively

Analytical skills with an ability to understand and translate complex markets into client communications

Creative and critical thinker with a strong history of improving processes through innovation and project management

Achievement and team-oriented individual

Strong knowledge of programming and Aladdin are critical to improving the current day-to-day responsibilities of the Cash Management Product Strategy and Portfolio Management teams

Strong communications and writing skills

Fixed income, capital markets and/or economics knowledge preferred

Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required
