Within BlackRock’s Retirement Group, the COO & Business Strategy Team is responsible for driving the team’s business strategy and management functions, with a focus on data and analytics to promote efficient and smarter decision making. The team has a wide scope of impact, working closely with all Retirement Group functions as well as partner teams across the firm (Financial Planning & Analysis, Technology, and Client Businesses).

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is excited to work in a dynamic, fast-paced business that is driving innovation in the industry and growth for BlackRock. The candidate will report to the COO of the Retirement Group and have primary responsibility for operational efficiency and sales enablement. Given the size and scope of the team, this role will provide significant exposure across the business and the broader firm.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate business-wide operational processes and workflow to build scale, drive efficiency, and manage coordination with broader firm functions

Be responsible for risk and compliance-related activities such as sales practice compliance, required trainings, internal audits, data privacy/permissions, regulatory items, and business continuity plans

Identify and develop robust processes to remediate identified risks

Lead the relationships with key partner teams across the firm to continually improve the Retirement Group’s operational and servicing capabilities

Build and oversee the group’s use of CRM platforms to enhance sales enablement

Evaluate platforms for information sharing and enhance processes for dissemination of information across the business

Develop keen understanding of the business, its components, and how BlackRock fits into the industry to proactively identify enhancements for the business

Skills and Qualifications:

5+ years of meaningful experience in business management or financial services; experience in client-facing distribution business strongly preferred

Highly organized, process oriented, with an ability to manage aggressive deadlines and ensure adherence to firm wide protocols

Ability to build and leverage effective relationships

Strong results oriented, commercial mindset

Enthusiastic, proactive self-starter who is internally motivated to deliver outstanding results for the team

Strong analytical skills: able to gather and synthesize information, draw insights, and summarize issues

BA/BS Degree
