Systems Operations team under Digital Workplace Operations is responsible for working with the Engineering teams in implementing the solutions designed the team for the service offerings. A strong knowledge of all technologies the team manages, constant collaboration with the Engineering team and being the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) of the services across the board.
The team is responsible for patching and large scale software deployments to all endpoints, implementing group policies to desktops, laptops, VMs, tablets, implement configurations to services like Enterprise File Sharing Solutions and Office suite management (deployment and configuration). The team is also responsible for championing all of the services, interacting with other technology teams and end users to gather requirements, and develop innovative ideas that would improve the services.
Systems operations subchapter is also responsible for Application Packaging of all software used by global users on different platforms including Desktop, Laptop, VDI, Citrix, MAC etc. Team is also responsible for Deploying applications to global users, managing the upgrades and decommission of software . Software vulnerability and End of Life management is also the key focus for the team. Team some various migration projects for packaging scope and provide high level support for application issues.
Role Responsibility
Create application package in MSI and/or Virtual format (App-V 5.0) for Windows (Desktops & Citrix) and Casper packages for Mac.
Deploying packages through SCCM to production and global users.
Assist in handling internal packaging QA process and Discovery of software
Perform complete end to end packaging activities include source validation till deployment and production support
Engage internal customer to obtain packaging requirements and create technical documents with solutions to meet requirements and scale to large environment.
Remediate issues discovered during testing or deployment.
Provide L3 level support of desktops, laptops, and Virtual desktop environment.
Drive process improvements and Automations to increase effectiveness and Quality. Lead and contribute POC of new tools in Digital workspace and support migrationimplementation of new tools and infra
Technical point of contact for Projects. Knowledge to engineer an application for various platforms.
Understanding in vulnerability analysis process and categorization of risk and provide a suitable remediation.
Security patching and remediation of non-compliant devices
Experience
7-12 Yrs of professional experience in Technology workspace
Experience in Application Packaging using Installshield AdminStudio , sequencing tasks using App-V
Deployment experience using SCCM or DCM or Intunes
Knowledge of Automation/scripting using PowerShell/VBScript.
Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, Antivirus Software’s, Citrix, Virtual Desktop environments.
Good communication skills & team player, ability to co-ordinate well within local/global teams within same function as well as cross functional teams, Works under general supervision; reports to a team lead or manager.
Demonstrates ability to organize and coordinate activities associated with all aspects of application packaging requirements, certification, testing, reporting and deployment.
Demonstrates ability to ensure processes are being followed by the team and suggest improvements
Development skills a plus
