PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The Aladdin Solutions Engineering team is seeking to hire an experienced alternatives technology specialist to accelerate the pace of their already fast-growing business. This person will be a member of the Business Development team working closely with their colleagues and owning the technical and business components of the sales process. This includes utilizing technical and business expertise in product demonstrations to showcase Aladdin and particularly eFront functionality in solving real investment challenges. Presentation skills and the ability to explain alternative investment concepts is a must.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Be a client-facing alternatives specialist with superior presentation skills. Have knowledge of alternative asset class concepts and workflows (Private Equity/Debt, Infrastructure and/or Real Estate). Can communicate clearly and tie market themes with functional solutions. Be able to work in a fast paced and collaborative sales environment.
Partner with Business Development / Client Engagement on prospective and existing client sales opportunities, being jointly responsible for executing a sales strategy. Own the product engagement and demonstrations with the prospect building a relationship and rapport with business users from operative teams to C-level.
Respond to Request for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from potential clients. Deliver proof of concepts as part of the due diligence process.
Coordinate and manage internal solution environments, creating new and improving existing demo use cases
Collaborating internally on prospect requirements and product solutions. Partner with Aladdin product development to contribute ideas, understand Aladdin’s roadmap and latest functionality.
Partner with colleagues throughout the BlackRock organization, educating the wider business on Aladdin and learning local market/industry requirements.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 7 years of experience in financial technology with minimum 2 to 3 years exposure to alternatives in a client facing role such as Professional Services Consultant, Sales Engineer, Project Management, or Solutions role
Experience presenting technical concepts, business best practices and/or software to senior level business users.
Self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced, high-intensity environment and works well as part of a multi-disciplinary global team
Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly to prospects / clients
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong enthusiasm for the financial markets with a focus on alternatives and technology (FinTech)
