About your business unit
The Asia Pacific marketing team in BlackRock sets the strategic direction and executes marketing plans for client business in Asia Pacific across all client segments, including retail bank, wealth, insurance, pensions, and official institutions. It is the responsibility of this team to manage and implement brand, capabilities, and product campaigns, and utilise metrics to measure the return on investment and to inform and evolve future activity.

About your role
BlackRock is seeking a motivated individual to join the Asia Pacific marketing team, based in Singapore. The individual will develop and execute marketing strategies and activities to support BlackRock’s private bank clients in Hong Kong and Singapore, and wealth clients in Southeast Asia ex-Singapore (Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia). This role will also support APAC marketing in the adaptation and execution of global initiatives and activities at a regional level. This role will report to the Head of Marketing Hong Kong and Regional Wealth Marketing Lead.
The individual will plan and execute marketing initiatives across a complete range of marketing disciplines including fund launches, product promotion campaigns, events, fund flyers and videos, event sponsorships, email and content marketing. This role will partner closely with wealth distribution teams based in Singapore and Hong Kong, and regional marketing teams (events, digital etc.) to deliver these activities.

Overview of Responsibility

Partner closely with the relevant wealth client business teams and regional marketing teams to execute effective marketing strategies to meet business objectives

Create and maintain client communications, marketing collaterals such as fund brochures, flyers, videos and web content to ensure they are compelling and compliant for our private bank clients in Singapore and Hong Kong, and wealth clients in Southeast Asia ex-Singapore.

Partner with the regional events team, multimedia, and third parties to plan and execute BlackRock proprietary and sponsored events (in person and virtual), event content and client communications to showcase BlackRock’s thought leadership platform and investment capabilities. This will also include organizing BlackRock’s annual outlook events in Southeast Asia (e.g. Malaysia, Thailand and Philippines), support regional webinars and localization / adaptation of global initiatives at a regional level.  

Support the execution of regional product and/or thematic promotional marketing campaigns and events targeting our wealth clients in Asia-ex Japan. This includes executing client communications and developing product and campaign content assets to drive preference for BlackRock’s investment products.

Understand Asian wealth clients’ behaviour, needs and market trends to create innovative and impactful marketing experiences

Analyse the impact of marketing events and campaigns to informs future marketing campaigns, and optimize marketing effectiveness across channels

Track and maintain the marketing spend against budget in an efficient and responsible manner

Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in wealth client distribution teams, product strategy and investment teams and partners in APAC marketing, global marketing, Legal and Compliance, Corporate Communications and other business functions as appropriate

Share best practices across markets, avoiding duplication of efforts and initiatives to ensure high degree of consistency

Manage external agency and internal partners across digital, multimedia, product marketing, creative production and media buying

Experience/Qualifications/Skills 

Associate level (at least 5 years of experience) with proven marketing/product strategy experience in the financial services industry; experience in asset management industry is highly preferred

Excellent communication skills in English – both written and verbal.  Bilingual and understanding of Cantonese and/or Chinese is a plus.

Good understanding of the asset management industry and investment products, client segments and the competitor landscape in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong

Ability to tell marketing ‘stories’ and craft marketing messages with flair via content and campaigns that will engage the target audience.

Self-motivated individual, with high energy, attention to detail, a commitment to excellence and superb time management skills

Strong project management skills, including an ability to move multiple projects forward simultaneously amidst ambiguity, effectively integrating input while maintaining project schedules and meeting deadlines

Strong team player, ability to collaborate credibly and leverage the firm’s resources locally as well as globally

Highly effective in developing relationships with cross-functional and cross-regional team members

Proven ability to manage multiple, determined stakeholders and effectively integrate input while maintaining project schedules and deadlines

Ability to build relationships within the firm, and work well across investment teams, sales, product teams and external influencers
