The SMA landscape is one of the fastest growing areas of the Asset Management Industry and continues to expand at a rapid pace. Due to tremendous growth and a commitment to an exceptional client experience, we are actively seeking senior, client-facing sales professionals with a proven successful track record of building strong client relationships and activating sales particularly in the SMA space. BlackRock is a leader and pioneer in this space and has recently expanded its customized offering with Aperio and SpiderRock.

Business Description:
BlackRock’s US Wealth Advisory (“USWA”) business manages the firm’s relationships with US retail investors and financial advisors. Representing a full suite of strategies from Model Portfolios, iShares ETFs, and mutual funds to Alternatives, SMAs, and sub-advisory relationships. USWAs mandate is to deliver One BlackRock to retail.
 
Role Description:
BlackRock SMA Specialists in US Wealth Advisory are responsible for accelerating the growth of Separately Managed Accounts. The scope of their role will include three core elements:
(1) Acting as the subject matter expert across the full range of BlackRock SMA offerings
(2) Partnering with field sales teams to deliver BlackRock, Aperio and SpiderRock solutions to the largest and fastest-growing advisors in the industry.
(3) Providing “white glove service” to SMA clients making BlackRock the most convenient asset manager to do business with.
The role is in multiple locations including Princeton, Boston, San Francisco & Atlanta.

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver an exceptional client experience by demonstrating mastery across the full breath of BlackRock SMA offerings – product lineup and customization capabilities on single-contract, dual-contract, and sub-advisory platforms
Accelerate growth of SMA business through partnership with field sales teams
Demonstrate a deep understanding of sponsor platforms across wealth landscape, including strategies available, pricing structures, operational connectivity, and firm-specific nuances
Understand and utilize SMA proposals and client reporting to deliver solutions aligned to the end client’s personalized goals and objectives
Serve as the client liaison for inquiries and support related to our SMA business

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required
CFP, CIMA or CFA preferred
Minimum 3+ years in SMA, ETF or mutual fund sales
Strong financial services background with knowledge of investment trends and advisor practices
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Strong sales, partnership, and organizational skills, including profiling and resource deployment
NASD Series 7 and 66 (or 63 & 65) required
Clean U-4
