The Global Product Group brings innovation, discipline, and focus to the firm’s investment product line by aligning client and investment teams in the design and execution of product-related initiatives.
GPG’s Product Management team builds and is responsible for the product agenda for each asset class by anticipating and responding to evolving client needs while shaping a vision for future growth with key partners across the firm. Today, this is happening as the market environment, competitive landscape and regulatory picture are evolving to present exciting opportunities across Institutional and Retail channels in the US, Latin America, EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions.
Your role and impact:
We are searching for a Vice President to help drive strategic product initiatives for the liquid active business. The role will include work on long-term strategy, platform and range management and product commercialization efforts. Successful candidates will possess knowledge of and/or experience working in one or more traditional or alternative investment asset classes.
This is a multifaceted, high-profile role that requires frequent interaction at the most senior levels of the firm to change the face of our product set. The successful candidate will be an indispensable partner to our investment product strategy and distribution pillar leaders in optimizing commercial outcomes over the longer-term. You will benefit from inclusion in a large, globally diverse team, with access to a broad range of skills and expertise that contribute to a deep understanding of client motivations, strategy development and fund structuring across regions and sales channels.
Crafting and implementing global asset class and regional product platform strategy aligned to firmwide priorities alongside partners on distribution and investment teams
Leading product management for BlackRock’s direct hedge fund businesses and contributing to the evolution of the private markets investment platform
Conducting competitor, market and fund range analysis to assess the health and saleability of products and, where appropriate, recommending changes to improve commercial appeal
Bringing creative thinking and analytical insight to new product development, wrapper innovation and seed capital allocation through evaluation of client needs, market trends and regulation
Defining the asset class product agenda by mapping, guiding, and tracking products throughout their lifecycle and helping to set annual sales targets for key focus products
What are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree (MBA, CFA a plus)
6+ years’ prior experience, preferred in asset management, corporate strategy, client portfolio management, product marketing, sales management, or institutional fundraising
Conversance in sustainability, understanding of private markets and quantitative investing
A relationship builder with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Strong data analytics and visualization skills are crucial
Proven ability to lead sophisticated, cross-functional global projects
Self-starter with strong integrity and ethics and a high degree of creativity
Familiarity with industry data sources (Morningstar, Broadridge, eVestment, Preqin, etc.) a plus
