BlackRock’s GPS team is responsible for using BlackRock’s scale, industry knowledge, and risk management capabilities to build and expand partnerships with leading financial institutions, achieving the delivery of high-quality service to our firm’s clients. To achieve each of these goals, GPS develops and implements a forward-looking provider strategy designed to increase operational efficiency, provide risk and cost visibility, and flexibility as our business evolves, leading to an enhanced client experience. To balance our relationships, GPS executes a global provider governance model that combines quantitative and qualitative components, encompasses a consistent engagement program between BlackRock and our partners, mitigates operational risks, and sets parameters for the selection of new partners. This role can be based in our locations across the Americas region.
We are looking for an extraordinary teammate to join GPS as part of the Relationship Management team leading our engagement and strategic partnership with Global Providers. They will drive strategy by supporting BlackRock’s fast-growing business needs and will contribute to our long-term strategic vision across all Providers.
Key interface to Provider senior management teams and internal partners; Leadership responsibilities across the global team, representing BlackRock as key face-off to Provider partners
Develop positive relationships with key internal constituents to evolve and execute on our relationship strategy; Central point of escalation for all major Providers related matters
Communicate relationship status to BlackRock executive leadership team and partners
Proactively address risk utilizing metrics and management information to hold providers accountable for service excellence
Stay ahead of industry developments and ensure BlackRock is well positioned to scale our business model
Lead or participate in Provider searches such as RFPs and RFIs; Drive commercial terms negotiations.
Prepare for and lead meetings and strategic discussions
Facilitate GPS oversight programs; Partner with L&C, internal audit and RQA to carry out Risk assessments
To ensure success, we are looking for the following qualifications
BS/BA degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related field, advanced degree preferred
10+ years’ experience in the fields of banking or securities, investment management operations, accounting, consulting, or fund administration with a focus on alternative investments
Strong understanding of asset management industry trends and challenges; Experience in global markets a plus.
Broad knowledge of investment product operations including technology, legal structures, fund types and financial and regulatory reporting
Excellent written & oral communication skills; Experience interacting effectively with executive/ investment/ sales/ product/ operational teams
Ability to run effective cross-functional meetings; Strong organizational and planning skills including the ability to multitask
Ability to structure and scope sophisticated problems and apply a range of analytical tools to develop solutions
Ability to lead projects and work in a dynamic evolving environment with the expectation of meeting Fiduciary needs
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work and deliver results independently, a self-starter
