The Client Business group serves these client segments – Official institutions, Insurance, Other Institutions and Wealth.
Professionals within the team work together to deliver a full range of asset management, risk management and advisory services relevant to clients’ investment needs. Unified under one global client platform, individual client businesses are accountable for client relationships and distribution of products and services and are supported by a centralized marketing function which ensures consistency globally.

The role:

Our Korea Client Business team is seeking a professional to service our growing client base. The successful candidate would be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with insurance clients to offer BlackRock’s investment solution.

The individual will work closely with the APAC Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Segment Head, FIG sales, and Insurance Solutions to support growth of the FIG business as well as Client Business team in Korea. The successful incumbent will have the following responsibility:


Execution to expand beyond existing insurance client base and business in Korea within Korea Client Business Team while supporting the APAC Head of FIG to determine sales strategy.

Develop, manage, and strengthen relationships with Korean life insurers, P&Cs, reinsurers, and their affiliates. This would include identifying new business opportunities and developing strategic alliances with key partners to grow assets.

Maximize and grow sales across our platform, including but not limited to both active and passive strategies across Equities, Fixed Income, Multi-asset, Alternatives, Aladdin, and bespoke solutions, in order to deliver aspirational financial results measured by AUM, net new business and revenue targets for the Korea FIG business.

Partner with key stakeholders including but not limited to Marketing, Insurance Solutions, Global Product Group (GPG) to drive marketing campaigns and business solutions for insurers and project-manage strategic initiatives to further build up Firm’s brand awareness amongst the clients and prospects.

Represent BlackRock in the marketplace by being involved in public speaking and organising industry events and forums.

Participate and contribute to FIG APAC on knowledge sharing, and culture/ team building.

Interact with Global FIG stakeholders on Korea FIG business development, collaborate and seek synergy covering regional/international insurers who have a Korea presence.

Formulate, own, and execute growth strategy of key client relationships.


10 years’ experience in relationship management in financial services with a strong preference for engaging insurance asset management products/solutions with insurers in Korea, and /or insurance consulting & advisory experience.

Strong overall relationship management acumen and analytical skills

Strong interpersonal and presentation skills

Ambitious work ethic, professional disposition, detail–oriented, good team player

Ability to build relationships and influence people at all levels and functions; can work through difficult problems and in conflict situations

Bachelor’s degree required

Good command of English and Korean languages

CFA license preferred
