The Portfolio Analytics Group (PAG) within BlackRock Solutions delivers actionable insights to our investment and client-facing teams, grounded in our proficiency of Aladdin data, technology, and processes. PAG collaborates with investors, risk managers, portfolio consultants and client-facing sales and relationship management teams to address clients’ challenges with innovative analytics and technical solutions – delivered with the scale of Aladdin across all asset classes and client segments. We ensure successful, high impact delivery of results aligned with our stakeholders’ priorities
We are seeking a number of Associates to join our teams in London:
Portfolio consulting & sales analytics focuses on collaborating with BlackRock’s iShares-Wealth Client business to create analytic solutions and applications to draw insights on client portfolios, scale portfolio construction solutions, drive sales enablement, and support product selection.
Asset allocation and fund research partners with BlackRock’s Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions business in building solutions using analytics and/or data science methods to curate insights to help make data-driven decisions in research, portfolio construction and risk/portfolio management.
Private market analytics focuses on bridging eFront/Aladdin Platforms to the portfolio management, construction and research performed on behalf of Multi Asset Solution business and clients. A good knowledge of the private markets as well as the eFront platform will be a plus.
Equity investment analytics partners with BlackRock’s Fundamental Equity and ETF & Index Investment teams to build solutions using technical, analytical, and quantitative techniques in order to enhance the business’ capabilities, from research, to product development, and risk/portfolio management.
Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to incorporate research, data and analytic solution into workflows and decisions processes
Prototype solutions and partner with technology departments to evolve tactical deliverables into scalable products that can be offered commercially
Design, implement and support new analytical capabilities with partner teams to address new requirements and enable new opportunities
Apply strong project management and communication skills to all product responsibilities: set agenda, drive tone, provide direction to individual team members, coordinate execution, and communicate out to partners
Serve as an ambassador for our solutions externally with clients and participate in business development activities
Build inclusive teams across the community of internal groups and influence key partners and project sponsors to achieve greater consensus
Respond to inquiries and enhancement requests from clients and serve as the subject matter expert in internal & external client discussions
At least 3-5 years in a highly analytical role in a technology or financial services setting
Strong critical thinking and confirmed experience using technology to solve problems at scale
Outstanding academic achievement, degree in business, computer science, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics or other quantitative field of study
Relentless desire for understanding how processes work. Creativity in solving unconventional problems, entrepreneurial drive to learn new skills and technologies.
Strong knowledge and experience with Python, SQL, and UNIX.
Superior communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly
Ability and willingness to learn fast, multi-task, self-motivate and pick up new things easily
Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
Experience in working with one or more asset classes (e.g., fixed income, equities, alternatives, ETFs, etc.) a plus
Experience in product and project management is a big plus. Ability to structure multiple communication streams and manage workflows, as well as time management skills are required.
