About the role
The Retirement Group’s Commercial Strategy team is seeking to hire a Vice President to evaluate new product opportunities and design and launch new products specific for the retirement space.  This person will also partner with BlackRock’s Sales teams and Investment Strategy teams to identify market and client trends and drive efforts across strategy, product development, and marketing to accelerate growth in BlackRock’s retirement income solutions. Comfort with project managing and collaborating across a diverse group of stakeholders is a must.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the role include:

Collaborate closely with internal partners, including Investment/Research and Sales teams to develop key product focuses and execution plans

Develop an understanding of retirement-specific market themes and industry trends, leveraging knowledge to incubate new product ideas and validate client demand

Contribute to and inform the investment product design and structuring of new lifetime income solutions

Partner with and influence external stakeholders and potential partners, including but not limited to recordkeepers, insurance companies and technology vendors to innovate, design and develop new solutions

Work in partnership with internal teams to design and articulate product priorities, new idea business cases, and longer-term product strategy in consideration of client needs/feedback

Drive thought leadership strategy to amplify BlackRock’s voice in retirement income

and partner with Retirement Marketing to develop product narratives for client use

Support the DC sales force as retirement income product expert and partner with team as needed for custom analyses and meeting with clients

Skills and Qualifications

7+ years of relevant investment industry experience, preferably with emphasis in investment product, strategy

Knowledge of retirement products with direct exposure to retirement income solutions

Familiarity of the US DC industry, including an understanding of the recordkeeping ecosystem

Outstanding communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) to scale product insights across sales teams and clients

Ability to establish relationships within the firm, and to coordinate thoughtfully across the business, operations, legal and compliance, portfolio management and investment research

Highly motivated to drive execution and collaboration around key initiatives

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize information, summarize issues and think creatively

Self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced, high-intensity environment and works well as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Series 7, 66 preferred
