About this role

BlackRock’s Enterprise Cloud Services team is responsible for building and growing a multi-cloud strategy. We are looking for a Cloud FinOps Engineer to help develop and implement solutions to assist the BlackRock Enterprise Cloud Services team reduce or eliminate steps associated with manual processes as well as provide mechanisms for streamlining new processes related to our cloud spending and reporting.

We are an interdisciplinary team focusing on delivering access to all four major cloud providers to our development community in a scalable, resilient, and secure manner. We are passionate about solving difficult problems through technology and are focused on utilizing the cloud to tackle large scale challenges.
We have a team that work globally and excited to get a Cloud FinOps Engineer to help move us forward! We want to see how our successful candidate will fit into our Agile team and for them to impress our internal development teams with their guru level knowledge!

Role Responsibilities

Working closely with our Cloud Engineering and Cloud Business Office to develop automation, integration, and reporting around our cloud expenditures
Creating full visibility for financial aspects related to BlackRock cloud solutions
Educating yourself on FinOps best practices and recommending automated solutions and reduce manual work.
Creating optimization tasks and data driven recommendations

Skills/Qualifications

B.S. / M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline with 2– 4 years of experience
Software Engineering/Scripting expertise preferably Python
Experience leveraging REST API for extracting and/or posting data
Exposure to cloud ecosystems such as Azure, AWS, GCP , OCI
Experience with CI/CD practices
Knowledge of software development methodologies (analysis, design, development, testing) and basic understanding of Agile / Scrum/ Kanban methodology and practices
