Business Unit Overview:

With offices located in Amsterdam and Eindhoven, the Netherlands is strategically very important for BlackRock in EMEA, with large relationships across Institutional, Retail and iShares clients. BlackRock in the Netherlands has a very sophisticated client base, consisting of Pension funds, Insurance companies, Family Offices and Banks.

The NL COO team is responsible for business management, strategy and analytics for the NL client businesses. The team engage with the leaders of each client business to drive key initiatives and work closely with internal stakeholders, including Investments, Corporate Strategy, Finance, Marketing, and Sales to ensure consistent messaging and clear coordination of critical projects internally. Furthermore, the NL COO team is responsible for the operation and administration of the NL region, and for monitoring performance results, allocation of resources and implementing metrics-driven sales execution to manage our business.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will report into the COO for the NL region. This role is an integral part of the NL country management team, supporting the NL Country Manager, the Chairman and the COO, as well as the local Business channel heads. They will deliver consistent high-quality outputs for the team in support of business growth.

We are looking for someone who enjoys contributing to and owning a wide range of tasks. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter with a passion to deliver high quality work and possess a strong attention to detail. This position is a multi-faceted role, which requires outstanding interpersonal, organsational, planning and analytical skills coupled with a strong work ethic. Sound judgement and discretion are also key given the confidentiality of information accessed.

Key responsibilities:

Business Management:

Strategy support: Support the NL leadership in developing a scalable business strategy for BlackRock.

NL Leadership Support: Deliver high quality support to the NL Country Manager and Chairman.

Financial Management: Own various outputs, including:

Produce annual revenue reporting in collaboration with the Finance function.

Manage and monitor monthly financial management information.

Manage the process around flow forecasting and client pipeline management.

Commercial Support: Own the coordination key business development activities:

Structuring and maintaining account plans;

Steering committee’s agenda;

Support the development of performance metrics for BlackRock NL.

Business Intelligence: Develop enhanced NL specific market data in cooperation with central teams.

Controls and Governance:

Governance structure: Support local operating platform and governance framework for BlackRock in the NL region

Risk management: Oversee compliance procedures and regulatory needs

Controls: Perform tests on local procedures and processes and report findings

 Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years’ prior experience. Working in asset management, insurance, financial industries or similar is a plus

Excellent organisational and project management skills with a proven ability to own multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize effectively

Strong planning and time management skills including ability to function effectively within a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining a keen attention to detail

Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to take on further responsibility quickly.

Strong quantitative abilities with an affinity for data analysis.

Bachelors or Masters degree. In an area such as business administration, finance, law, economics, accounting or similar is a plus.

Excellent proficiency in Microsoft office programs Fluency in both Danish and Swedish would be an advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in Danish and / or Swedish and English
