About this role
This Investigations team, within the Employee Relations function, is responsible for proactively managing investigations arising from employee complaints or reports of employee misconduct that have been filed via the firm’s escalation protocols.
The ER Investigations team is a distinct function responsible for reviewing employee complaints, ensuring fairness, equity, thoroughness, timeliness, balance and neutrality in all investigations. Leveraging a standardized investigations framework, this team is responsible for leading investigations and, in partnership with Legal and business leaders, will make recommendations to hold our people accountable where there is discriminatory conduct, harassment or other inappropriate behaviors, or where there has been any other breach of BlackRock’s policies according to globally consistent principles.
The team is looking for a team member to have joint responsibility for conducting investigations and supporting the oversight of key ER governance controls through data analytics and the generation and implementation of strategic ER projects.
Conduct robust, timely, fair and equitable investigations into employee complaints and allegations of misconduct, in line with the global investigations framework and local policies, practices and legal frameworks.
Build and maintain a strong partnership with key partners in Legal & Compliance to assess and mitigate legal, regulatory, and reputational risk, while supporting Blackrock’s inclusive culture.
Liaise with and advise the global HR Business Partner community on investigations and areas of concern.
Use the ER case management system to log cases and use the associated data to gather insights, identify trends and develop proactive strategies to remediate risk.
Qualifications and Skills:
Solid HR experience in conducting investigations and recommending appropriate disciplinary outcomes
Knowledge and understanding of US employment legal law; global knowledge a plus
Global HR experience in delivering strategic initiatives a plus
Demonstrates operative knowledge of HR policies, practices and procedures
Analytical ability to understand HR data and reporting and pragmatically apply this knowledge in a commercial environment
The understanding of business information needs and knowledge of how to translate them into reporting requirements and substantial decks, reports and/or analytics
Proven track record in project management and successful delivery of complex projects which can help inform senior stakeholders and facilitate decision making to enhance the ER function’s Book of Work
Experience working in a complex, matrixed and results oriented environment. Financial Services sector, including fund/asset management or investment banking sector preferred.
Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Office/Outlook
A collaborative and positive team member with strong organizational and project management skills
The ability to work well under tight time constraints with impeccable attention to details
Strong written and verbal communication skills
BA/BS degree; certifications and course work in specific areas of HR expertise preferred
JD or legal experience welcome but not required
