Within the Client Business group, we pride ourselves on creating, communicating and delivering investment solutions for clients worldwide. To that end, we have teams of professionals with expertise in the many functions that combined make this effort successful and sustainable, including relationship management, marketing, sales, client service, and product development and management.
The Client Business group serves institutional and retail clients, including pension plans, insurance companies, third-party mutual funds, endowments and foundations, charities, corporations, official institutions, banks, family offices, financial professionals and individual investors.
Professionals within the team work together to deliver a full range of asset management, risk management and advisory services relevant to clients’ investment needs. Unified under one global client platform, individual client businesses are accountable for client relationships and distribution of products and services and are supported by a centralized marketing function which ensures consistency globally.
Our China Client Business is seeking a Relationship Management Vice President to service our growing client base in China. The successful candidate would be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with institutional investors in China.
Design and implement sales strategy for clients and prospects. Meet (or beat) predetermined sales targets for new mandates.
Identify and diligently pursue new investment opportunities through consultative dialogues with existing and new institutional clients. Focus on strategic products for the group as well as mandates that will have the most commercial impact.
Proactively manage existing relationships; identify and aggressively defend at-risk business.
Build trust and collaborate with internal partners (e.g., product strategists, portfolio managers, business operations, etc) to meet clients’ needs and objectives. Record and share client activities with relevant stakeholders on a timely basis.
Manage junior team member(s) and contribute to the staff’s overall development.
Provide guidance to junior(s) on client servicing activities to existing clients.
Minimum 7 years’ experience in a sales function with similar capacity within asset managers/private banks or hedge fund/alternatives investment product specialist.
Self-motivated and service-oriented, with the ability to think strategically and drive new business.
Deep industry and investment knowledge with ability to represent BlackRock at industry conferences.
Chinese (Mandarin) language skill required.
Proven ability to form collaborative partnerships with internal colleagues and mentor junior team members.
